Sr Lead Engineer (Cloud/DevOps)

Location: Richmond VA / Norfolk VA/ Atlanta GA / Indianapolis IN / Mason OH

Responsible for leading the end-to-end application system development and maintenance on large complex enterprise-wide technology platforms.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Maintains active relationships with stakeholders to determine system requirements, leads requirements gathering meetings, reviews design with the technology governance organizations and drives required approvals.

Anticipates broad technical change and ensures that company technology stays ahead of the curve.

Prioritize projects and make trade-offs with respect to the enterprise systems changes based on broader business needs.

Understands the entire architecture for a system solution and is able to articulate the scaling and reliability limits.

Participates in developing the multi-year technology strategy for critical areas of the business that may encompass multiple systems.

Partners with technical and non-technical stakeholder to identify the long-term technical trajectory of the technology infrastructure.

Creates architecture and anticipates future technology needs.

Leads the conversations internally about the direction of major areas of the technology, drives wide-team consensus to the adoption of this direction, and uses this direction when engaging engineers.

Owns the change request process and coordinates with other teams as necessary.

Coordinates and manages on-call support and owns the system monitoring process.

Reviews and monitors initiatives for end-to-end impact and coordination. Participates in review and decision making for enterprise solutions.

Leads several DevOps teams supporting different application development teams for end-to-end DevOps automation and day-to-day operation support.

Provides thought leadership and guidance to the team to mature DevOps practices and promote continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Requires an BA/BS degree in related field or technical institute training; Master's degree preferred. 9 or more years' experience; multi-platform experience, expert level experience with business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Incumbent should also have the ability to mentor others, lead multiple or large projects and provide troubleshooting support. Demonstrated leadership skills in both business and IT context to drive teams to achieve results.

Multi-dimensional skills in information technology area required.

Knowledge in multi-database and multi-language preferred.

Experience in Web technology, Mobile technology, Virtualization and Voice channel preferred.

Additional Requirements:

Experience in working/administering and strong knowledge on Linux/Unix platform is a must.

Experience with Solution design within public cloud required (AWS, GCP).

Experience in implementing DevOps automation in public Cloud infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concept.

Solutions Design with Micro-Container platforms (Kubernetes).

Strong knowledge and experience in DevSecOps.

Hands on experience in Atlassian or similar DevOps tool set.

Experience in end-to-end release automation with XLD/XLR or similar tools.

Experience in SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) practice with focus on system reliability and quality.

Experience in DevOps metrics standardization, instrumentation for data collection and reporting.
