C++ Developer

Primary Location – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a C++ Developer for our premier client in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is a 8 of months contract position in the telecommunications industry.

Education and Experience »

• Embedded Linux programming in C/CC+
• Linux shell scripting (bash, python, etc.)
• Knowledge on any of the Linux init systems (eg: SystemD, sys v etc.)
• Debugging skills using gdb, Breakpad

Preferred skills, not required

• Experience of RDK
• Experience of Yocto based build systems and Bitbake
• Open source development and patching
• Basic knowledge of Linux security hardening and Linux access controls

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

• Python as programming language
• Linux shell scripting
• Understanding embedded Linux- familiarity with York 2
• Familiar with Jenkins tool
• Familiar with Gerrit
• Requires a lot of knowledge and interaction with consumers
• Python, Shell scripts, some SQL - mix of language skills used awareness of build, awareness RDK experience not mandatory, but is nice to have
• Builds embedded firmware, make sure it is securely assigned and deployed in cold download server and it gets downloaded to devices
• Jenkins based build system that works on York 2 (build framework) Artifactory Gerrit.

• Responsible for maintaining the low level platform and security layers of a Linux based software stack (RDK) that runs on millions of video set top boxes and broadband gateway devices.
• Duties may include fixing security bugs, code hardening, implementing new features and porting open source software
