The AWS Solution Architect is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of Amazon Web Services (AWS) systems, servers, VMs, security, software, encryption, hardware, and related infrastructure. This individual will ensure that system buildouts, operating systems, software, and related procedures adhere to established policies, thereby enabling staff, partners, and clients to be successful.

DUTIES

• Responsible for full lifecycle support in the areas of IT Strategy, Cloud Model Delivery, and Infrastructure support
• Strong expertise in designing, deploying, and supporting cloud solutions. Strong expertise in implementing AWS services like EC2, S3, ECS, RDS, IAM, SES, SNS, ECS, Lambda, Cloudfront, etc.
• Support scenario design, prototyping flow mapping, and create technical documentation
• Test and train the support team to deliver solutions
• Participate in or lead the development of client deliverable content
• Knowledge of multitier web application architecture, design, and development
• Highly skilled in deployment, data security, and troubleshooting of the applications using AWS services.
• Experienced in implementing organization DevOps strategy in various operating environments of Linux and Windows servers along with cloud strategies of Amazon Web Service
• Manage system images
• Configure and deploy AWS infrastructure to meet client's security requirements for protecting sensitive systems and data
• Implement security controls and harden security settings down to the least possible privilege, thereby maximizing IT security
• Install and configure virtual network and data backup systems in the cloud
• Migrate application systems and databases from physical data centers to AWS
• Create technical documentation and specification for Federal client to migrate application to AWS managed by Federal client
• Familiar with AWS best practices and AWS Well-Architected framework
• Support Federal ATO activities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
• Working in a lead role guiding technical solutions
• 5-8+ years of experience with:
  • Mobile development technologies including Apache Cordova (hybrid application development), iOS, Android
  • J2EE web application development experience
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration skills
  • MySQL database administration skills
  • Active Directory administration skills (LDAP)
  • JBoss EAP administration skills
  • Apache Web Server administration skills
  • Windows Server administration skills
  • User Interface design, 508 compliance knowledge
  • EC2 (Elastic Compute virtual servers)
  • Load balancing
  • RDS (Relational Database Service)
  • Route 53 (DNS management)
  • CodeCommit (Git repositories for code storage)
  • Certificate Manager (SSL certificates)
  • Ability to successfully interface with many diverse system users and project stakeholders with differing needs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experiencing provisioning and configuring AWS security parameters during new system launches
• 5+ years' experience with AWS, migrating systems to the cloud, security, Linux, configuring networking
• Prior experience with HHS or other GSA client
• AWS Certified solution/associate architect certification
