Job Description

AWS Big Data Engineer required to join a large international client delivering AWS / cloud based big data solutions. Permanent role in Washington DC working with a leading global brand.

The client offers an excellent salary package and working environment.

Key duties:

  • Hands on deployment of Big Data solutions – managing hundreds of Terabytes or more
  • Design and implement data extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading and replication / distribution capabilities
  • Develop custom solutions / code
  • Work with sponsor development teams
  • Support, maintain, optimize, troubleshoot and configure Hadoop environments

Key experience:

  • 3+ years Big Data experience
  • Experience with Hadoop, Nifi, Hive, Kafk and Spark
  • Experienced in AWS environments – AWS – EC2, S3, Lambda and data technologies
  • Scripting experience – Bash, CSH, Shell, Perl or Python
  • Hands on experience with Hadoop and Hadoop Services
  • Experienced with CI / CD pipelines
  • Strong experience across Hbase and MapReduce
