Digital Workplace — refers to technologies and services that enable new ways of collaborating and the adoption of consumer oriented working practices to improve engagement and efficiency. Cond Nast has moved to G-Suite globally plus a range of cloud solutions including Okta, ServiceNow, Slack and a number of other Digital Workplace technologies required to support a fully enabled digital business.

The Systems Engineer (Digital Workplace) will provide expertise in macOS, iOS & Windows maintenance, new hardware/software evaluations, level-three support, software package creation and deployment and implementing third party and in-house applications.

Candidates for this position should possess a solid and very broad base of technical knowledge across Apple and Windows hardware and operating systems, as well as a solid understanding of Active Directory. Aside from the ability to manage complete ‘cradle-to-grave’ hardware and software lifecycles, there will be a need to develop and implement custom projects and workflows that will change and improve our environment.

As part of the Digital Workplace Tower, the Engineer will work with Technology colleagues, suppliers and internal customers to ensure high quality solutions move into production and are managed effectively on an ongoing basis, delivering business value.



Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

 

  • A minimum of eight years of experience in Technology, with at least three years working hands-on with macOS, iOS, Android and Windows, GSuite, and Okta single sign-on products and other relevant Digital Workplace technologies
  • Technical knowledge of desktop security and maintenance in Windows and Mac OS environments
  • Experience in deploying, configuring, and supporting enterprise applications, creating custom software packages, scripting and patching solutions, expert-level experience in designing and deploying an UEM/EMM solution (Filewave, KACE) or equivalent platforms: AirWatch (Workspace One), LANrev or Jamf pro (Casper Suite)
  • Fluency in one or more scripting and/or programming language with experience of designing and creating custom solutions. - Python, Objective-C, Swift, Bash, Powershell
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite application deployment & admin console
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, load balancing, firewalls, switching, routing, wireless, VPN, DNS, etc..)
  • Strong technical knowledge as well as good communication and collaboration skills, delivery of training for technical teams and end users, creating and managing technical documentation
  • Significant experience in delivering Technology support, working across operational support levels and teams to deliver excellent services for internal business clients
  • Experience of working in an international and/or matrix management environment would be an advantage
  • Experience in using ServiceNow, Slack and Jira
  • Excellent Customer Service skills (genuine desire to help customers with issues). This is an important part of the position since there will be interaction with employees at all levels (individual contributors, management and executives).
