Your Role & Main Responsibilities

The Flight Services Team is looking for a Team lead SRE/DevOps Specialist, Engineer to build, deploy and maintain applications with the goal of continuous deployment and keep up high availability systems. Ideal for an analytical person and eager to learn new things every day. It requires looking after the application tasks pertaining to an application specifics. Under general direction operates production systems, designs and builds automation to ensure scalability and efficiency, develop tools and scripts using a variety of scripting languages as required for monitoring, deployment and automation. 

Main responsibilities:

• Build and utilize automation tools with respect to the release management process
• Will actively participate in Change, Incident, Problem and Knowledge Management processes as well as on-call support
• Responsible for designing and implementing improvements and automation to increase stability and uptime in production environments with oversight and support of Integration, Certification and Staging environments
• Assist in the technical coordination between service integrators, vendors and partners
• While working on incidents will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnose and take actions and triage for production systems
• Strong attitude towards teamwork, knowledge sharing and documentation
• Work together with change management and development teams to leverage open source tools and help implement best practices and policies.
• Exercise judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
• Help design cloud standards and operational guidelines

Necessary skills & requirements:

• BS/BA degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred, or commensurate experience required
• 5+ years related experience as a DevOps engineer and/or software developer (Release Engineering experience is a plus)
• Experience with source control systems such as GIT
• Solid understanding of SDLC, patching, releases and software development at scale, Continuous Integration, and Delivery approaches
• Experience with Amazon Web Services, Terraform and Azure DevOps Pipelines
• Good knowledge of programing languages such as JavaScript, Python and PHP
• Strong scripting capabilities such as PowerShell, Bash etc. and remote script execution via SSH and WinRM
• Experience with automation tools like Runeck, Jenkins and Ansible
• Good knowledge of monitoring tools like Zabbix/CloudWatch/ELK (Opensearch)
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Unix
• Familiar with database engines and technologies (Relational, MultiValue, etc.)
• Knowledge/experience with container orchestrators and platforms is a plus (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, etc.)
• Understanding of ITSM process, ITIL practices & other standard IT practices/procedures, particularly as they relate to the cloud is a plus
• Good written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills including; change management documentation, ability to communicate among technical and non-technical employees, and process orientation skills
• Effective time management skills; able to set prioritized and be flexible in a changing environment
• Ability to report and work accurately and according to agreed timelines
• Ability to identify problems, root causes and apply solutions proactively
• Ability to learn and adapt to multiple technologies
• Advanced oral and written communication level in English
• Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and debugging skills.
