As a member of one of our Technology teams, you will contribute to building solutions that use natural language processing, cognitive computing, and artificial intelligence applications or the frameworks and infrastructure that support them.

The Senior DevOps Engineer works side by side with engineering, platform, development and operations teams and will be primarily responsible for designing, implementing and automating build, release, deploy, monitoring and configuration activities. The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for bridging the gap between development, operations, and infrastructure.Job Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

• Design, implementation and installation of distributed big data infrastructure for high volume/velocity multi-tiered data storage, high availability and fault tolerance.
• Experience in the installation and maintenance of clustered big data environments based on Hadoop and related technologies
• Design, construct, implement and support data warehouse databases for optimal reporting and analytics.
• Optimize database operations for maximum performance.
• Work with engineering teams on near real time data pipeline and streaming technologies
• Work with the Operations team in performing routine and periodic database maintenance and develop and implement automated maintenance, compliance and archival strategies.
• Design and implement security strategies to ensure role based access, auditing, and authenticated access to data for internal users, external users and automated tools.
• Maintain the database infrastructure in multiple locations to handle the high throughput use cases that are critical to the Platform.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Research, suggest, and apply new promising technologies, strategies and ways to solve technical issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 5-10 or more years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years working in Linux environments (CentOS/RHEL/Ubuntu preferred)
• 2+ years scripting languages with at least one of the following: Bash, Python, Ruby
• Experience working in a fast paced environment.
• Knowledge/experience with networking concepts: routing, firewalls, NAT, DNS, etc.
• Knowledge/experience with Linux/Unix operating system: command line, shell scripting, permissions, authentication, security, etc.
• Experience with AWS environment: EC2, RDS, ALB, Route53
• Experience / knowledge deploying enterprise-grade applications running in the Java eco-system/environment
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, and Docker or other containerization technologies.
• Experience supporting deployments and builds in a 24/7 SaaS environment
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or other configuration management tools
• Experience working with Container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS ECS.

Preferred

• A team player, able to work in an environment of high levels of change and complexity
• Experience with PaaS technologies (EKS, Google Kubernetes Engine).
• Experience creating, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Docker images.
• Experience with Kubernetes deployment technologies, such as Helm (2+ years)
• Strong technical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
