The Database Administrator position champions and affects high-level database systems design, best practices, documentation, high technical standards, tools, platforms, scalability, resiliency, quality, and performance. DBA works closely with the Infrastructure, Cloud Services, and Product Development Teams to scale, maintain and continually improve the performance and availability of MS SQL, MySQL databases. This position will be located in our Pune Office.
In this role you’ll:
Provide database administration support for all database environments (dev, staging, integration, production) and participate in on-call rotation as defined by management
Deliver designs in support of requirements for designing and maintaining logical and physical data models
Perform in-depth data analysis to understand data from source systems
User access management
Review daily database jobs and database alerts
Database backups and environment refreshes
Proactive database monitoring
Work with developers to optimize, improve and tune new or existing queries by rewriting queries or modifying indexes
Participate in the planning, installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of database instances
Utilize the AWS services to manage hosted database servers.
Perform short and long-range planning needs for databases and applications, focusing on performance and sizing characteristics to determine upcoming storage, CPU, memory, and network needs.

Minimum 5 years of database administration experience
Hands-on experience building and managing SQL Servers in AWS using Windows Failover Cluster.
Prior experience with Availability Groups, Performance Tuning, Backup and recovery methods, Log shipping, Database Mirroring, Database capacity planning, and Users and Role creation and monitoring in AWS and Datacenter environment.
Hands-on experience with SQL services such as SSRS and SSIS.
Experience in third party database tools such as Solarwinds DPA monitoring.
Experience in SQL 2012 and higher, AWS RDS, and similar database servers.
Exposure to toolsets such as:
Source Control: Git or like
Work Request Systems: TFS, Jira
Understanding of SDLC Methodologies: Agile, SCRUM, use of architectural patterns/frameworks
Ability to collaborate on requirements for projects and request
Ability to properly assess and articulate risk
Master’s degree in computer science or relevant Engineering degree.
