SUMMARY: The senior Data Engineer works to create business intelligence data solutions that support the long-term data analysis, SSIS, SSAS, Data Warehouse and BI/reporting needs of the company. Works on BI data structures, logical and physical data modeling, ETL, database performance tuning and BI solution tools. Work closely with the BI Product Manager and BI team to ensure the product deliverables are on time and exceeding the quality standards.

• Performance tuning/Query optimization in Microsoft SQL database
• Design & Develop end to end ETL process using MS SQL SSIS
• Develop and implement Data modeling and manage Data warehouse (SSIS,SSAS)
• Develops BI database and product solutions per user requirement with minimum supervision.
• Reviews change requests and performs technical assessment to ensure deliverables are highly scalable, so that the end-user is satisfied with a fast-performing system.
• Work closely with the manager to ensure the product is evolving according to need
• Drive effort estimation for product and help create development plans with manager
• Communicates technical constraints and design with ease and with relevant data and reference
• Proactively keep a tab on emerging technologies, evangelize and lead adoption throughout the teams
• Ability to articulate the understanding of requirements and the reason behind a suggested solution approach based upon future trends
• Foster an environment of teamwork, creativity and continuous improvement.
• Understand, champion and enforce production code deployments to ensure integrity of the release, including post-production monitoring. Balance the needs of customer support and maintenance with new product development.
• Ensure all source code, scripts and production jobs are kept in source code control with versioning (Subversion / GitHub). Ensure builds are done properly with TeamCity, or other build software.
• Monitors database code delivery to ensure SQL/stored procedures are optimized for speed to support large tables with millions of records.
• Delivers software solutions in an agile, fast-moving work environment.

POSITION TYPE/REQUIRED HOURS OF WORK:

• Full-time; provide 3 hours of coverage overlap with US EST time zone M-F
• Office Time 12AM to 9PM IST

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• B. E/ B. Tech - Computer Major, M. E/ M. Tech - Computer Major, MCA
• 8+ years experience in Microsoft SQL Server (in Microsoft Platforms) performing database development and maintenance.
• Excellent skills in MS-SQL Stored procedures, views, triggers, functions , SQL profiler and Query Execution plans.
• Advanced MS-SQL queries to support complex joins and index tuning
• Experience with SSIS packages and ETL tools
• Experience with BI data structures, ODS, star schema, DataMart and views
• Experience with logical and physical data model
• Experience data cubes and DAX, MDX helpful
• Experience with BI data visualization tools, such as Power Pivot, Power BI, Tableau or Logi Analytics helpful.
• Experience with Agile and SCRUM methodologies
• Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills
• Should have strong analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Should be confident, self-driven with a lot of initiative, and should have the zeal and energy to quickly ramp-up on upcoming technologies
• Technical visionary of opting and supporting best architecture for the desired product
