ABOUT THE ROLE

As a PHP Developer, you will have a proven track record of working on complex projects and be expected to lead by example when it comes to developing best Practices.

You will be involved in the full development cycle in the team of developers on often complex and challenging eCommerce projects. Problems give you an itch that you must resolve. You make others around you better developers, and enjoy learning in return.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• LAMP stack development (2+ years of significant experience)
• Ability to write clean and maintainable object-oriented PHP
• Should have advanced level skills with CSS, HTML, AJAX, jQuery, and Javascript.
• Database and query design (MySQL)
• Nice to have (not a must): Experience with frameworks/libraries (Codeigniter, Laravel, Angular, React, etc.)
• CMS implementation and custom development
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
• Thorough understanding of relational databases and security relating to PHP/MySQL
• Comfortable blurring the line between traditional back- and front-end development, often integrating PHP with client-side frameworks and Ajax.
• Be able to act with a sense of urgency in resolving client issues associated with technologies and applications

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop high-quality object-oriented code using PHP and popular frameworks
• Executing on application development and infrastructure projects both large and small
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute prioritized system and tools-related projects. Projects range from data integration to enterprise applications.
• Identify existing non-scalable solutions and help devise a plan/roadmap to help them scale.
• Build proofs-of-concept, testing plans, and controlled systematic roll-outs.
• Participate in code review sessions with fellow team members troubleshoot and resolve outstanding issues.
• Build APIs and web services to be consumed by internal and external customers
• Creating and maintaining documentation in code and for Buy It Installed applications and APIs
• Respond in a timely and courteous manner to internal team members and clients on status updates and requests
• Translate user-stories and business logic into robust code that fits within new and existing architecture
