Join Jeavio to work on an exciting opportunity as a senior data engineer for our portfolio company, VTS. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will work effectively as part of a global, distributed Agile team. You will help design and build VTS' next-generation data platform that is seeing immense growth. You will apply your knowledge in building secure, resilient, and performant data processing pipelines. You will contribute to all phases of the software lifecycle and work closely with your counterparts globally to help VTS scale their platform.

Role Details
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer who is looking to take on a role as a senior individual contributor.
You will:
- Contribute to all phases in the software lifecycle requirements analysis, solution design, development, and deployment
- Own the design, implementation and documentation of product features
- Ensure assigned projects are developed in accordance with established engineering processes, adhering to scope, schedule constraints and agile project plans
- Mentor less experienced team members and help onboard new team members
- Participate in and provide guidance during code reviews
- Participate in code reviews
What we are looking for
Technical and functional areas of expertise:
- Working as a senior individual contributor or technical lead on a data intensive project
- Strong experience in building high performance, resilient & secure data processing pipelines preferably using Ruby/Python based stack.
- Strong working knowledge and experience on REST API Programming.
- Extensive experience in building data intensive applications with a deep understanding of querying and modeling with relational databases preferably on time-series data.
- Strong programming skills in Python with flexibility to work on any other programming language such as Ruby or Javascript
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrable ability to learn new programming languages and frameworks quickly
- Experience of building, scaling and deploying applications to AWS, Azure, or GCP
Additional areas that would add value:
- Experience with NoSQL databases.
- Experience with data engineering pipeline tools (Airflow, Databricks, Looker etc).
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, CircleCI, Teamcity, Drone, etc)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloudformation, etc)
- Specific familiarity with financial or real world (roads, buildings, maps, addresses) data modeling
- Experience building data products for CRE
- Understand and can articulate the facets of the spectrum of Data as a Product to Data as a Service (and want to help move the company along that spectrum)
- Test Driven & Behavior Driven Development
- Automated Unit and Integration testing
- Experience working as part of a distributed team across multiple time zones
- Experience working in Agile Scrum or Kanban methodologies
Education and experience:
- Bachelors or Master’s in Computer Science or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience
