Scope of Position:

• Support database design efforts with the priorities being security, scalability, performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with system/software architects, managers, business analysts, and others to understand business or industry requirements.
• Develop data models for applications, metadata tables, views or related database structures.
• Develop advanced SQL stored procedures.
• Query tuning/optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Develop & maintain report solutions using tools but not limited to SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
• Develop & maintain automated job tasks/solutions using tools not limited to SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
• Must provide database support for applications; in-house development and purchased applications.
• The SQL Developer will be responsible for using discretion and independent judgment, ensuring standardization of SQL coding practices and adherence to coding standards, change control, and SQL best practices.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• 4+ years of experience as a database/SQL developer
• For Senior Database Developer 7+ years of experience as a database/SQL developer
• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification
• Expert understanding of database design concepts.
• Expert understanding of SQL Server stored procedures and T- SQL programming
• Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with SSIS, and SSRS
• Basic understanding of statistics and accounting
• Working knowledge and/or experience with application development
• Working knowledge or experience with Power BI is plus.
• Strong Problem Solving ability
• Mentorship: Well-suited and experienced at teaching and mentoring jr.-level developers
• Should be meticulous, organized and complete.
• Ability to write any documentation required including: Specifications / Functional Technical documents / and ERD diagrams
• Should keep up with the latest developments in technology, tools, and processes.
• Ability to change direction in response to changing work situations.
• Team-oriented and dependable with well-developed interpersonal skills and work habits.
• Quick-learner and self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
