Job Description

Job Summary

Manage sales/use/excise and property tax compliance/audit/planning for all applicable VW Group entities in the U.S. and Canada. Manage relationships with outside vendors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sales and Use Tax Compliance, U.S. and Canada
    • Manage and prepare U.S. and Canadian sales and use tax returns for all Volkswagen Group companies in the U.S. and Canada. Work to implement new systems as required and determine sales tax treatment for new products/businesses
  • Property Tax Returns and Payments
    • Manage and prepare tangible personal property tax reporting for property located in the U.S. Manage outside vendor relationship for outsourced property tax reporting
  • Information Reporting (10%) Form 1099 for reportable payments
  • Support sales/use/excise/property tax audits
  • Manage compliance for Federal excise tax, annual state corporation reports, state/Canadian environmental taxes, unclaimed property. Reconcile indirect tax accounts for financial reporting.



Required Experience

  • 7-10 years


Required Degree

  • Bachelor's degree

  • CPA

Specialized Skills:

Required:

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian sales and use taxes, Tax Information Reporting laws and U.S. property tax laws

  • Strong IT systems skills
  • Experience with working/analyzing large amounts of data


Desired Skills

  • Public accounting experience
  • Previous management experience
